Laser Sound

This project is based on the Make Controller from Making Things. The controller is attached to both the USB and ethernet ports of a MacBook. On the MacBook the application is implemented using Processing, a Java-based programming environment for multimedia. The project also uses 2 Strait-Line Laser Level 30. Two of the analog inputs to the Make Conroller have NTE 3034A Phototransistor Detectors attached, and the lasers are aimed at the detectors. A tone is played on the MacBook, and it is altered if one or both of the laser beams is interrupted.

This project was inspired by the Laser Harp project in Make Magazine Number 15.
